A TikTok content creator has stirred controversy online after sharing that she prepares a completely different meal for her husband whenever he refuses to eat the dinner she has already made.
Brianna, known on TikTok by the handle @themamabrianna, recently uploaded a video of herself making nachos for her husband. The video, set to a section of Meghan Trainor’s song “Mother,” shows Brianna preparing the dish and includes a text overlay that says, “My husband didn’t eat the dinner that I made… So let’s make him some nachos.”
As she assembles the nachos to bake, the video also features a message stating, “If I don’t feed him, he literally won’t eat. This used to irritate me. Now I just blame his mother for never making him try salmon.”
The video ends with Brianna handing the tray of nachos to her husband, who is seen lounging on the couch wrapped in a blanket.
In the caption, she added, “Moral of the story: always serve your kids alllll [sic] the food, even if they say they don’t like it after the first time. 25 years from now your child’s spouse will thank you.”
The video, which has been viewed over 1.3 million times on TikTok and shared on Twitter, quickly sparked a wave of reactions. Many viewers expressed their shock and disapproval, with some commenting that they couldn’t believe she would make an entirely new meal just because her husband didn’t like the one she made.
One comment read, “I hope you are joking. My husband could eat air.” Another person, referencing a famous scene from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, wrote, “Sorry. My inner Beast would come out, ‘Then go ahead and STARVE!’” Another commenter said, “Nope, if he can’t make his own food, he’s going to bed hungry.”
Several people compared her husband’s refusal to eat to the behavior of children. “She’s married to a toddler,” one person wrote, while another added, “That feeling when you’re married to a literal four-year-old.”
In a follow-up video, Brianna responded to a comment from a follower who joked about her husband’s appearance, saying, “The man’s own hairline didn’t stick by him, but you did.” The new clip showed her serving him a bowl of macaroni and cheese while he relaxed on the couch, looking at his iPad.
